Summary:
We are seeking a Draftsperson to join our Building Design team in Kyneton, Victoria.
Whether you're a recent graduate or have 2–3 years of experience, this is an exciting opportunity to grow your career in building design. In this role, you'll use your drafting and design skills to create accurate 3D models and detailed 2D drawings. Your ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain exceptional attention to detail will be key to your success.
Responsibilities:
* Utilise Tekla drafting software to develop detailed 3D models, general arrangement drawings, installer drawings, shop drawings and Bill of Materials for various projects.
* Interpreting architectural drawings and other documentation to create structures that meet the design brief.
* Creating client value by value engineering designs, identifying design issues early and maximising constructability of projects.
* Working together in collaborating with the Building Design team by sharing knowledge, insights, and best practices.
Review project specifications and make necessary adjustments to designs as required.
* Liaise with clients, architects, project managers and other stakeholders with regular meetings throughout the design process.
* Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the drafting process.
* Assist in training junior draftspersons or new team members and take a leadership role in continuous improvement of the team's standards and output.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Draftsperson or similar role within the manufacturing or construction industry.
* Experience with 3D modelling and design software.
* Solid understanding of architectural design principles and structural engineering concepts.
* Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for problem-solving during design processes.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated, openly communicating, and treating others with respect.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality output under pressure.
Highly Desirable:
* Experience with Tekla Structures 3D modelling software.
* Proven experience in the steel fabrication and construction industry.
* Diploma or degree in Drafting or Engineering.
Salary:
A competitive salary depending on your experience will be offered in the range of $75,000 to $95,000pa
