About the role
We are seeking an Assistant Venue Manager to join The Chase Bar & Bistro in Baldivis, WA 6171. This is a full-time position that offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your management career within a dynamic hospitality environment. As Assistant Venue Manager, you will work alongside the Venue Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our establishment, maintaining our reputation for excellence whilst supporting the team to deliver outstanding guest experiences. This role is integral to the success of the venue and offers genuine opportunity for progression within our business.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting the Venue Manager with the overall management and operation of the bar and bistro
* Supervising and leading front‐of‐house and back‐of‐house staff to ensure high standards of service and presentation
* Managing customer relations and resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally
* Overseeing food and beverage service, including order accuracy and quality standards
* Maintaining compliance with health, safety and licensing regulations
* Contributing to roster planning, staff scheduling and ensuring adequate team coverage
* Monitoring stock levels, controlling costs and assisting with inventory management
* Supporting the implementation of venue policies and procedures across all staff
* Assisting with the training, development and motivation of hospitality team members
* Contributing to the promotion of special events, functions and themed evenings
* Ensuring the venue is maintained to the highest cleanliness and presentation standards
* Reporting to the Venue Manager on operational matters and performance metrics
What we're looking for
* Proven experience working in a hospitality management or supervisory role, preferably in a bar, bistro or similar licensed venue
* A minimum of 1‐2 years of hospitality management or supervisory experience
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
* Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
* Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and practices
* TAB experience, not essential but preferable
* Understanding of health, safety and licensing requirements relevant to hospitality venues
* Competency in basic financial management, stock control and cost management
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required by the hospitality industry
* Problem‐solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
* A positive, professional attitude and commitment to team collaboration
* Sound experience with social media and event hosting
* Ability to work within Australia without sponsorship agreements
