An exciting opportunity exists to join the Primary and Community Health Speech Pathology as Clinical Educator ‐ Paediatrics.

This senior position will be responsible for direct supervision of speech pathology students and provide support, resources and education to staff in the department who are supervising students.

What You'll be Doing:

The clinical educator is responsible for the coordination of all speech pathology placements and liaising with relevant universities. The position involves direct supervision of speech pathology students as well as providing support, resources and education to staff in the department who are supervising students. The Clinical Educator also carries a clinical caseload in paediatric speech pathology.

They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement activities, participation in service development and other administrative responsibilities as required.

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

How to Apply

- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which is accredited as eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and skills in the provision of speech pathology services to paediatric clients with complex and diverse needs, preferably in a community setting, including working with vulnerable and/or at risk communities ensuring the provision of client/family centred care.
- Demonstrated experience providing supervision and education to students and staff including demonstrated application of adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use multidisciplinary teamwork and to collaborate with other services/organisations relevant to case management and service delivery and demonstrated experience in providing clinical leadership.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
