Your next career opportunity As the Sexual and Reproductive Health Strategic Communication and Engagement Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing CERSH's profile through strategic engagement, communication and marketing efforts. You will lead campaigns that promote sexual health services, engage with diverse stakeholders, and support rural communities. This opportunity allows you to make a significant impact on healthcare accessibility and delivery in rural Victoria. Your responsibilities will include: Lead Strategic Communication and Engagement: Develop and implement communication strategies to promote CERSH's initiatives and strengthen stakeholder engagement. Manage Content and Media: Oversee CERSH's digital presence, creating high-quality content for websites, social media, and promotional materials. Collaborate and Build Partnerships: Foster relationships with University staff, government bodies, and community organisations to maximise communication opportunities. Ensure Compliance and Quality: Adhere to University policies, providing compliant advice and maintaining high standards in communication outputs. You may be a great fit if: You will excel in this role if you have strong strategic communication skills, experience in tailoring content for diverse audiences, and a n understanding of sexual and reproductive health in rural Victoria. You may also: Have a relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a similar communications role. Be a strong writer and content creator, adept at engaging diverse audiences across multiple channels. Possess high-level interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and handling sensitive information with sound judgement. Demonstrate knowledge of sexual and reproductive health issues in rural Victoria and contemporary health promotion practices. Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Zoom, enhancing productivity and communication in hybrid work environments. What we offer you! Your new team – The Department of Rural Health The Department of Rural Health is a department within the Melbourne Medical School at the University of Melbourne. The Department is based in Shepparton, Ballarat, Bendigo (in partnership with Monash University and La Trobe University) and Wangaratta and has associations with more than 40 smaller rural towns in Victoria. The key purpose of the Department is to provide professional health education and research training in a rural context with an aim to increase the rural health workforce. The Department works closely with the local community and healthcare partners to ensure that we remain relevant and connected. Our partnerships underpin our teaching and research. The Department of Rural Health is funded primarily by the Australian Government Department of Health’s Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program. The aim of the RHMT program is to improve the recruitment and retention of health professionals in rural and remote Australia. The Department also receives funding for the Centre for Excellence in Rural Sexual Health (CERSH) from the Victorian Government, Department of Health. In this role you'll be at the forefront of improving sexual health services in rural Victoria. Based in Shepparton or Wangaratta, you'll be part of projects that build workforce capacity, strengthen community action, and enhance access to vital health services.
