Job brief Our business is undergoing significant growth and is looking to appoint a 1st Class Welder to join our manufacturing team. We are looking for a skilled Welder/Fabricator who has strong welding experience and knowledge and who is trade certified. Your responsibilities Welding and processing of mild steel, stainless and aluminium and fabrication as required. In-process checks Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and blueprints to determine welding requirements. Use welding machines to join metal components and structures, including steel, aluminium, and stainless steel, using various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding. Use grinders, cutters, and other tools to prepare and finish welded surfaces. Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Set up welding equipment and tools, including selecting appropriate electrodes, gas mixtures, and welding wire. Maintain welding equipment and tools, including cleaning, repairing, and replacing components as required. Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures. Work within a team environment, collaborating with other trades and professionals to complete projects on time and within budget. Requirements Trade Qualified, 1st Class Welder, Boilermaker or similar. Ideally 5 years or more of MIG and TIG Welding experience Ability to read and write English and follow verbal instructions. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings. Experienced in welding mild steel, aluminium and stainless to a high standard. Experience in welding high tensile steels, such as Bisalloy 500 would be highly regarded. Experience in using electrical or manual tools (drills, linsher, squares, callipers etc.) Knowledge of relative safety standards Excellent attention to detail.
