We are currently seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead our team in the Rail Maintenance Automated machine shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising tasks, managing a maintenance team, fostering collaborative relationships, driving safety culture, and executing planned maintenance activities.
Responsibilities:
* Managing and supervising a maintenance team, including team leadership, performance management, safety performance, workflow management, and task execution
* Fostering the development of collaborative stakeholder relationships and interfacing with other maintenance, engineering, and internal and external teams
* Driving and promoting a strong safety culture and zero harm approach through safety leadership
* Using SAP and Rio Tinto workflow management principles to execute planned maintenance activities
* Working closely with planners in identifying, planning, and scheduling scopes of work, assisting in the organization of tooling and parts, and ensuring adequate resourcing to run the shop
Requirements:
* A manual C Class Driver's Licence
* Experience in Automation or related technology
* A relevant Electrical or Mechanical Trade Qualification
* Previous experience in a shutdown coordination/supervision role
* Strong maintenance leadership and contractor workforce management experience
* Previous experience in performance management, incident investigations, and safety leadership
* The ability to make important decisions relatively quickly during high-pressure situations
* Strong team member with excellent communication skills
* Exposure to work management processes and SAP
Desirable Qualifications:
* Mechatronics or Industrial Automation qualifications
* Certificate IV in Front Line Management or similar
* Previous rail industry experience
* Graduate Certificate/Diploma of Asset and Maintenance Management
Work Environment and Benefits
Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our integrated production process, serving 15 mines across the Pilbara via 1700km of track. With depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert, and Dampier (7 Mile), each train is operated by a single driver and comprises up to three locomotives and 240 ore cars stretching approximately 2.7km in length, with over 40 trains operating per day.
