Tesoro Gastronomia ATF SETTEBELLO HOLDINGS TRUST trading as Tesoro Gastronomia, Balwyn North, VIC is looking for a full-time Pastry Cook to join our dynamic team with a dedication to deliver traditional italian inspired sweet and savoury pastries, cakes, biscuits, cannoli, bombolone, cornetti for retail sale and for use in the cafe and celebratory functions held onsite.
Experience with Italian pastries and cakes is preferred but not essential.
Tesoro Gastronomia is a cafe by day and formal a-la-carte restaurant at night.
The restaurant seats 82 patrons across two established dining areas.
The downstairs main cafe seats 32 for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The elegant courtyard dining area accommodates up to 50 patrons and is often used for lunch, dinner and numerous celebratory functions like birthdays, religious events and work functions.
Since establishment over 4 years, the business has seen rapid growth, which now requires a dedicated retail pastry cook for sales and for internal production to complement our dining offering and functions.
Duties will include: - Check the cleanliness of equipment and utensils used in production and ensure compliance with health regulations - Weigh and knead flour and other ingredients to make pastry dough - Roll and cut pastry to required sizes - Prepare fillings and glazes - Control oven temperatures and product appearance - Ordering raw ingredients and store safely as required - Place and remove pastry from oven by hand or machine - Glaze pastries and decorate cakes with cream and icing - Maintain OH S and hygiene in the patisserie - Introduce new traditional italian pastries Certificate III in Patisserie plus one year experience in the relevant position OR at least 3 years of full-time experience as a pastry cook.
