About the role
This role provides senior category management and commercial leadership for procurement supporting infrastructure projects and capital delivery programs across Water Corporation. Reporting to the Manager – Strategic Procurement, you will lead sourcing strategies and procurement planning for complex, high‐value categories including infrastructure materials and long‐lead supply items.
A critical focus of the role is the commercial management of a strategic infrastructure supply contract, including accountability for supplier performance, risk management and continuity of supply. You will also lead the development and implementation of a long‐term critical pipe supply strategy to meet forecast demand arising from capital delivery programs and new source development projects. This will be achieved through close partnering with Major Source Projects to align demand forecasting, technical requirements, delivery sequencing and market engagement.
Established in response to increasing capital investment, and supply chain constraints, the role plays a critical part in improving delivery certainty, managing commercial risk and strengthening procurement governance across infrastructure programs.

What you can expect with this role
* Lead the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for critical OEM and long‐lead infrastructure materials
* Develop and maintain sourcing and procurement plans aligned to capital delivery schedules and forecast demand
* Undertake detailed cost analysis and financial modelling of current and future contracts to inform sourcing decisions, negotiations and value‐for‐money outcomes
* Lead high‐value commercial negotiations, including pricing structures, risk allocation and commercial terms
* Identify, assess and treat supply chain, market and cost‐escalation risks across key categories
* Provide commercial oversight of key supplier relationships, including supplier engagement strategies, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Partner closely with Projects, Operations, Finance and Legal to align commercial, financial and delivery outcomes
* Support contract mobilisation, ongoing supplier relationship management, performance reporting and benefits realisation tracking
Your skills and experience
* For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
* Substantial experience in strategic sourcing and category management
* Strong background in infrastructure, capital works or engineering‐led environments
* Proven capability managing high‐value, long‐lead procurement categories
* Commercial acumen and confidence negotiating with senior supplier executives
* Experience in large, multi‐disciplinary organisations
* Degree qualification in business, engineering, commerce or similar, or equivalent experience
