Overview

Do you have the entrepreneurial drive to open doors, spark "what if" moments with clients, and win new business? We are seeking a proactive Account Director to join the Sydney Corporate Division team of a global events and marketing agency.

This is a sales-driven role (essentially a Business Development Manager) but with a consultative edge. You'll be at the forefront of creating growth, building trusted client relationships, and shaping innovative live experiences across conferences, incentives, launches, and events in Australia and globally.

The role

The key to success in this role is your ability to launch fast – securing early wins by leveraging your own network, contacts, and ability to identify opportunities. If you thrive on independence, hunting for opportunities, and creating growth, you'll feel right at home.

* Proactively identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities.
* Build strong, consultative client relationships – inspiring clients with energy and insight.
* Develop proposals, pitches, and tender submissions that stand out.
* Represent the agency at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
* Collaborate with a dedicated Client Services Team of 5–6, supported by 60+ creative, design, and project management specialists.
* Report directly to Client Services Director.


The candidate

* Minimum 5+ years' corporate event experience – ideally within a live event agency environment (conferences, incentives, launches), though strategic comms/engagement backgrounds will also be considered.
* Entrepreneurial spirit and growth mindset – you thrive on building, hunting, and winning.
* A proven record of new business development and pipeline growth.
* Consultative, energetic presence – able to spark ideas and bring fresh perspectives to clients.
* Strong commercial acumen, excellent presentation skills, and ability to work independently.
* A self-starter who delivers results without heavy oversight.

* Salary $120K–$150K base with OTE potential $180K–$220K+ for top performers.
