Job Summary:In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill.
You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control.
Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.
Major Responsibilities: Undertakes cost recording, monitoring, and reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards.
Undertakes the timely performance of cost control activities.
Responsible for the development and accuracy of cost engineering reports for the project.
Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility.
Responsible for issuing reports required by Delivery Partner management and project procedures.
Contributes to the monthly progress and cost reports including status of budgets, commitment, incurred costs, explanation of significant movements.
Performs cost data analysis, identifies problems, and makes recommendations to the Manager.
Reviews and provides comment and analysis on Contractor weekly and monthly report submissions.
Along with the project team identifies ways to mitigate project risk.
Assesses the uncertainties associated with productivity, material pricing, wage rates and quantity variation.
Participates in employee performance reviews and career counselling.
Interprets and executes policy, objectives, and standards applicable to cost estimating and cost analysis activities.
Performs or directs functional audits of project activities to ensure technical adequacy of project cost estimating activities as required.
Maintains liaison within global business unit to coordinate work processes, and procedures.
Develops and supports improvement measure institutionalization for the global business unit.
Serves as a subject matter expert within the global business unit Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Bechtel experience on Major Construction project required.
Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.
Knowledge in supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present cost engineering and cost estimating products.
Skilled in oral and written communication.
Must have the right to work in Australia without sponsorship.
Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
(requirement is to be an Australian National or have obtained full Australian residency)
Must be willing to move to Perth.
Airport experience is preferred - Terminal works highly regarded.
Major construction project experience required.
