EC Controls is expanding in Queensland, and we're looking for a talented BMS Project Manager / Project Engineer to join our Brisbane team.
This is a true hybrid PM/PE role, combining both the engineering and delivery aspects of BMS projects. The successful candidate will work across engineering, programming, commissioning, coordination, and full project management responsibilities.
We are also open to a strong Project Engineer who wants to step up and develop into the full PM/PE role. You'll receive structured support, mentoring, and exposure to end‐to‐end project delivery to help you grow into full project ownership.
What You'll Be Doing
You will work across both engineering and project management, including:
* Engineering, system design, and documentation
* Programming, testing, and commissioning
* Project planning, scheduling, and coordination
* Managing subcontractors, trades, and site activities
* Attending client meetings and providing technical updates
* Preparing handover documentation and commissioning reports
* Working closely with builders, consultants, and facility teams
As you develop, you will take on:
* Full project ownership and delivery responsibility
* Budget and cost control
* Program management and delivery oversight
What You Bring
* 3–5+ years' experience in BMS, HVAC controls, or building automation
* Strong engineering, diagnostic, and problem‐solving capability
* Experience with open protocols (BACnet, Modbus)
* Exposure to platforms such as Schneider EcoStruxure, Tridium/Niagara, Optergy
* Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and control schematics
* Confident communication and stakeholder engagementli>
* A genuine interest in operating as — or growing into — a combined PM/PE role
* Electrical trade qualifications, engineering degrees, multi‐vendor experience, or knowledge of NABERS / Green Star.
