Grindal Legal is a law firm in Maroochydore (QLD) and Melbourne (VIC) working on interesting and innovative legal issues in Property Law, Conveyancing, Mortgage Lending and Estate Planning. We are a welcoming and productive team that takes pride in our work and our clients' success. The firm is rapidly growing and looking for another Lawyer to join the team in the Maroochydore office.
The opportunity
In a busy and diverse role reporting to the Associate and Principal, your responsibilities will include:
Client relations
* Provide quality legal services to clients
* Develop and maintain excellent client relationships across all matters
* Identify and analyse situations and problems so that viable solutions are found
* Approach tasks and problems so that the needs of clients and practical, cost effective outcomes can be achieved
* Assist with offering advice on the law, legal procedures and a wide range of associated issues
* Attend and represent the firm at client meetings
Technical ability (across Victorian and Queensland Jurisdictions)
* Handling a range of Wills & Estate Planning matters in the areas of Wills, Probate. Power of Attorney and succession planning in trusts and superannuation
* Prepare Wills and Estate Planning legal documents
* Handling a range of QLD commercial, residential and off-the-plan conveyancing files
* Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses
* Run a file from inception to completion with supervision
* Understand and employ the technical knowledge required to achieve responsibilities
* Demonstrate technical ability across different practice areas
Knowledge, skills & abilities
* At least 1-2 years' experience in Wills and Estates
* At least 1-2 years' experience in Conveyancing
* Good technical and advisory skills
* Effective communication skills – both written and verbal
* Approachable manner in order to assist or direct others in a team environment
* Excellent organisation skills – ability to multi task, manage competing priorities, and keep calm under pressure
* Outcome focused, with the ability to problem solve, take initiative and be resourceful
* Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships
* Personal drive, integrity and honesty
* Confidence in their work but not self-important
* Desire and ability to grow, both as a lawyer and leader
* High level of respect for colleagues, peers and clients
* Strong level of commitment to the success of the business
* IT literate
