Offer description

About the role

We're seeking a Head of Asset Performance NSW to lead the efficient and effective management of maintenance across Transurban's full NSW asset portfolio. You'll join a senior leadership team that takes a best-practice, commercially disciplined approach to asset management — partnering closely with service providers, government stakeholders and internal teams to deliver infrastructure that millions of people rely on every day. As our Head of Asset Performance NSW, you'll sit at the intersection of commercial performance, technical assurance and people leadership — owning a complex, high‐stakes portfolio where the decisions you make directly impact the safety, reliability and long‐term value of some of Australia's most critical road infrastructure.

Day-to-day, you will
* Lead the development and execution of Annual Maintenance Plans and asset management strategies, balancing risk, compliance and commercial performance across a complex infrastructure portfolio (key assets include Westconnex, Northconnex, Hills M2, M5 East, M5 Southwest, Lane Cover Tunnel, Eastern Distributor and Cross City Tunnel).
* Manage commercial and operational relationships with key Service Providers, driving accountability for delivery, quality and contract performance.
* Provide budgetary management for maintenance operational expenditure across NSW, with a focus on fiscal discipline and value optimisation.
* Lead Technical Assurance inspection capability, embedding a culture of high‐quality data collection to inform asset decisions.
* Partner with senior internal and external stakeholders — including State Government, Concession Partners and O&M contractors — to drive mutually beneficial network outcomes.
* Lead and develop a high‐performing team, fostering a one‐team mindset and a strong safety, risk and performance culture.
This role will suit someone with
* Proven operations and contract management experience in a major infrastructure or maintenance environment, with strong commercial and financial acumen.
* Demonstrated experience in compliance, HSE and risk management, including the preparation and implementation of incident management plans.
* Significant stakeholder management experience, including engagement with government, contractors and community partners at a senior level.
* Strong people leadership capability, with a track record of building and developing high‐performing teams.
* A degree in Engineering, Management, Commerce or a related discipline – postgraduate qualifications and experience with road or tunnel technology (tolling, traffic management, safety systems) highly regarded.
Benefits
* A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year.
* 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well.
* Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests.
* Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more.
* Share offers and insurance benefits.
* Social activities, community give‐back programmes and paid volunteer days.
