Senior Engineer - Security role at LAB3
Lab3 is one of the largest Azure engineering practices in the Australasia region with a focus on Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Security, and Network services.
We have a contract opportunity for a Senior Engineer with our Professional Services Team. As part of our Security Practice, the Senior Engineer is responsible for delivering the high‑profile delivery of large‑scale Azure security solutions within our client’s environment. You will support, uplift and drive the overall delivery of the transformation while leveraging Security solutions and unique LAB3 products to architect, build and deploy client environments.
Must be based in Australia and have NV1 security clearance.
The Role
* Manage, support, and deliver the engineering of state‑of‑the‑art technical solutions on Azure that address customer's Security requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
* Drive the deployment, and support of large infrastructure security services projects.
* Hands‑on support for the end‑to‑end planning, provisioning, and implementation of Azure infrastructure services including security monitoring and management.
* Analyse, troubleshoot, and respond to potential threats as necessary – Microsoft Sentinel, Azure Log Analytics and Azure Defender for Cloud.
* Deploy Azure services as a part of an IaC project environment. Leverage CI/CD tools and pipelines for full build and management of infrastructure.
* Gather specifications and deliver solutions to our client.
* Partner with Architects, Consultants and peers to jointly create functional design specifications and Azure reference architectures.
* Working within a squad to perform reviews and contributions to architecture and design deliverables and solution strategies.
* Promote and support the Security process, outcomes, and value proposition to the organisation. Manage the governance processes to promote effective oversight and solution quality within security business areas.
* Contribute to the technical delivery and execution of multiple critical engagements. Cross functional support of professional services, projects, and managed cloud operations as required.
* Play a key role in the build and optimisation of Azure workloads and provide valuable contributions and transition to post‑implementation support.
* Maintain complex and scalable security automation tools and services. Manage orchestration of Cybersecurity Solutions as required and champion DevSecOps methodologies.
* Recommend client value creation initiatives and implement industry best practices where relevant.
* Demonstrate a professional ability to work with business stakeholders, manage effective relationships, understand issues, provide recommendations, and deliver appropriate technical solutions.
* Support internal and external engineers to identify best practice configurations of platforms and resulting workloads aligned to Microsoft frameworks.
* Strictly adhere to all LAB3’s Information Security Management System policies and procedures.
Required Tech Skills
* Multiple cyber security domains.
* Enterprise scalable security.
* Cybersecurity Operations, governance and compliance.
* DevOps and DevSecOps.
* Microsoft XDR and Microsoft Sentinel including but not limited to Data Connectors (built‑in, custom or API based), Logic Apps, Analytic Rules and Workbooks.
* Azure Cloud Security including but not limited to Data Collection Rules (DCR), Network Security Groups (NSG), Secure Gateways, Azure Firewall, Private link and endpoints.
* Identity and Access Management.
* Agile working approach e.g. (Jira, AzDo).
* Documentation.
