We have an opportunity for an experienced Public Practice taxation accountant to join the team. The position is full time and offers plenty of scope for growth and individual learning opportunities.
This is a full time position $80,000 - $105,000 annual salary package.
The key responsibilities of the role will be:
* delivery of quality work on business services, accounting & tax assignments e.g. prepare Activity Statements; Financial Statements & Taxation Returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships, Companies & Trusts
* prepare business valuations and conduct due diligence for business acquisitions and sales
* provide business advisory services to a diverse client base, including strategic insights and performance-focused guidance
* assist with other client projects e.g. Cash Flow Projections, Budgeting, Bookkeeping and Accounting Software solutions
* lead and participate in client meetings, acting as a trusted advisor to business owners
* build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
* work collaboratively with internal team members on complex accounting and advisory matters
* establish and maintain positive relationships with existing and new external business partners e.g. ATO, bank managers and referral partners
* maintain your professional development training
* maintain high standards of service and quality work
* ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget
* contribute to positive team culture
* may also require supervision and mentoring our junior team
What we Need from You:
* Tertiary qualifications in business with an accounting major or equivalent
* Professional Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants (or equivalent) or progressing towards
* Minimum of 5 years work experience in Public Practice taxation accounting profession
* Previous experience with individuals and business Clients (e.g. sole traders, Companies & Trusts) across a range of taxation issues and business operations
* Detailed knowledge of Australian taxation and commercial legislation
* Demonstrated experience in supervising one or more staff
* Previous work with a range of accounting software programs
* High level interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish solid client relationships
* Verbal and written communication skills to a high, professional standard
* Keen attention to detail and the ability to keep organised
