Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting and Treasury, the Assistant Director, Administered Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation, analysis and assurance of administered financial information. The position is accountable under limited direction for performing complex financial reporting work, with a primary focus on administered financial reporting in accordance with relevant legislation, frameworks, and Australian Accounting Standards.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Director, Administered Financial Reporting may include:
* Leading the preparation and delivery of administered financial reporting, including monthly reporting, year-end processes, and financial statements.
* Assisting in the preparation of the Agency’s annual financial statements, with a focus on administered items, and coordinating audit processes with the Australian National Audit Office.
* Preparing high-quality financial analysis and reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial information. Identifying, investigating, and resolving financial discrepancies, risks, and issues.
* Contributing to the development, documentation, and maintenance of internal controls, policies, and procedures to strengthen financial governance and audit readiness.
* Preparing a range of written materials including briefs, reports, and correspondence.
* Supporting stakeholder engagement by liaising with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice on financial issues.
* Mentoring and guiding junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Eligibility
Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool. The pool might be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles in the Department over the next 18 months.
