These roles are being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the NIAA delegate.
The Opportunity
The NIAA Transfer and Higher Duties Opportunities are open to all current ongoing APS employees who are interested in performing the work of the Agency on a temporary or permanent basis. The intention is to allow NIAA to readily access suitable candidates for ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies in response to high priority and urgent projects and provides individuals with development opportunities to work across emerging issues within a fast paced, challenging and unique operating context. Candidates are also able to apply and be considered for temporary acting opportunities at a higher classification through this register.

At a minimum you will require capacity to demonstrate cultural competency, including:
* Understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
* Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
* Willingness and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.
