Looking for a Payroll Officer to start in a Temp Position immediately
**Payroll Officer**
A well-established not-for-profit organisation is looking for an experienced and motivated payroll officer to join their team. You will be responsible for processing payroll for over 300 employees across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and award conditions.
**Your new role**
As a payroll officer, you will:
- Collect and approve timesheets from various departments and locations
- Calculate and process payroll, superannuation, tax and other deductions using financial software
- Manage annual leave, sick leave and other entitlements
- Prepare and distribute payslips, reports and statements
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records
- Liaise with external agencies such as ATO, Centrelink and superannuation funds
- Assist with payroll audits and reconciliations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 2 years of experience as a payroll officer or similar role
- A certificate or diploma in accounting, finance or related field
- Knowledge of payroll legislation, tax and superannuation rules
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and numeracy skills
- Robust communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A passion for working in the not-for-profit sector
