Business Intelligence Analyst | 12-month contract role

An exciting opportunity is available within a high-performing Brisbane-based organisation, currently undergoing massive transformation focused on transforming data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. They are seeking an experienced Insights Business Analyst with strong technical skills to join the team and guide the development and documentation of Business Intelligence (BI) requirements across a diverse stakeholder group.
Your new role
As the Insights Business Analyst, you will work closely with strategic business units to define and document comprehensive reporting requirements in an Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) environment. You will be responsible for interpreting key business drivers, developing KPIs, Metrics, and Dimensions, and ensuring the integrity of reporting outcomes. The role requires significant experience with analytics, business process knowledge, and the ability to convert complex reporting needs into clear specifications for BI developers.
You'll liaise with end users, subject-matter experts, and technology teams to ensure collaboration and successful delivery of reports. You'll also play a crucial role in preparing user scenarios, supporting user acceptance testing (UAT), and validating logic and business rules.
What you'll need to succeed
* At least 4 years' experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst within Data Warehousing or BI environments
* Proven success in defining and documenting BI requirements including data sources, KPIs, and Dimensions
* Strong working knowledge of analytics, BI process analysis, and performance metrics
* Experience with tools like Power BI for mock-up creation and understanding of Dimensional Modelling and OLAP
* Ability to write detailed technical specifications for BI reporting
* Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and collaboration across units
* Experience supporting UAT, training and requirements verification
* Knowledge/Experience with SQL
* Criminal History Check may be required
