Sort Center Site Manager, Amazon Transport Services
We’re seeking for an experienced Site Manager to join and lead our Sortation Center Operations team in Craigieburn.
As a Site Manager, you'll be responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operational objectives. The Site Manager oversees all aspects of operations and functions at the site. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, fostering positive employee relations, and developing leadership bench strength within the Sorting Center. Additionally, the role involves ensuring effective stakeholder management within Delivery Stations, Fulfillment Centers, Safety, Loss Prevention, and Middle Mile teams.
Key job responsibilities
- Oversee and improve performance of all aspects of sortation operations including but not limited to:
- Oversee the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of Inbound, Processing, ReLo or Outbound operations,
- Lead sort center activities and coordination of staff plans and operating schedules.
- Hire and develop a strong performing team fostering a culture of safety, customer obsession and engagement.
- Drive the creation of quality initiatives, process improvement initiatives, and other Lean strategies to help their functional area and the SC exceed business goals;
- Define and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold them accountable for their individual and departmental performance;
- Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and developing ideas and integrating them into improvement plans for the functional area;
- Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and throughout the network;
- Collaborate closely with support teams (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Senior Operations Managers) to secure necessary resources for projects and initiatives while also providing support for cross-functional initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
- Previous experience in a similar, Innovative Logistics, Distribution, Transportation or Warehouse Operations Management field,
- Previous experience in leading large, diverse teams,
- Experience in employee and performance management,
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
- Ability to manage details, establish and carry out root cause analysis, and then extract and analyse the data you generate,
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques.- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field,
- Strong operational experience in a fast growing company/industry,
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous,
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons,
- Proven record of delivering change management initiatives.
