The Role
We are seeking a Senior Building Designer to join us on a long‐term contract basis, working remotely with flexible hours. The role involves project management, consultant engagement/coordination, producing Development Application (DA) / Building Application (BA) drawings, detailed Revit drawings/documentation, and shop drawings for a variety of projects. This role is suitable for individuals who are reliable, enjoy flexibility and autonomy, who show initiative, and value good old fashioned customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate DA and BA documentation in line with relevant codes and standards
Develop preliminary and tender documentation
Develop detailed shop drawings, ensuring clarity and buildability
Project management & coordination of consultants/contractors throughout a project's lifecycle
Model and document projects in Revit with a strong focus on detail and efficiency
Collaborate with our design team, consultants, and builders to deliver high-quality outcomes
Maintain Nu Creative Design's documentation standards across all projects
Skills & Experience
Proficient in Autodesk Revit (prerequisite)
Minimum 6+ years experience in Australian residential and/or commercial building design (prerequisite)
High level of understanding of Australian building codes (NCC volume 1 & 2), standards, and construction practices
Extensive experience in residential and commercial drafting/documentation
Previous on-site exposure to residential and commercial construction practices
Strong knowledge of timber frame construction and engineering principles (desirable)
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, effectively manage deadlines, communicate clearly and promptly, incorporate feedback constructively, maintain a high level of accuracy, with a positive attitude.
