Who are we looking for?

A Group Planning Director to lead the planning community (client team planning champions) across all media channels, driving innovative strategies that maximize our clients' media investments, optimise channel mix, and integrate key products effectively.

This role is pivotal in rolling out and evolving our new "Focus for Growth" positioning, ensuring that planning frameworks and recommendations are aligned with this vision.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and client teams, you will support the planning community in developing comprehensive, insight-driven media plans that deliver measurable business results and reflect budget sufficiency. You will also champion best‐in‐class planning practices, encourage the appropriate utilisation of Publicis Groupe products, and inspire teams to adopt growth‐focused strategies through activation of The Focus Framework.

Key Responsibilities

Business Strategy

* Contributes to the agency's long term strategic planning, identifying growth opportunities based on market trends.
* Supports National Head of Strategy and Planning in developing the frameworks, processes and products that elevate the quality of our planning output.
* Guides the planning community to deliver solutions that address client challenges while leveraging agency capabilities to deliver growth for clients.

Commercial

* Responsible for encouraging the use of Data & Analytics products and ensuring the utilisation of planning tools including our decision analytics suite (MXP) across teams as measured by team utilisation.

Client

* Responsible for supporting the planning community to effectively use Starcom's planning product in annual plans and to represent Starcom's philosophy and capabilities in key planning workshops and senior client meetings.

Product

* Drive adoption of Focus Framework and tools across all "local client" teams through training and development, supportive artefacts and response to brief guidance.
* Own the MXP planning suite - be the expert for the planning community to lean on.
* Provide guidance to planning community on media planning best practice to ensure plans align with client objectives, target audience insights, and market trends.
* Champion Data and Analytics product suite to ensure uptake and effective utilisation by planning community.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in media planning and buying and marketing science via external sources and Groupe network resources.
* Own the Starcom "marketing science" knowledge bank and lead Starcom's planning thought leadership.
* Train and guide teams on planning best practice, including cross‐channel effectiveness, intra‐channel creativity (creativity guides) and effective goal setting and measurement via Starcom Academy and the maintenance of our knowledge base (e.g. whitepapers, agents etc.)

Agency and Team Leadership

* Lead, mentor, and inspire the planning community, providing training, guidance and support to ensure the delivery of planning best practice. Drive an engaging, diverse and high‐performing culture and create connectivity across all staff members.

Key Skills and Experience

* Experience in developing frameworks, processes, and products that elevate planning quality.
* Deep understanding of media planning best practices, cross‐channel effectiveness, and marketing science.
* Strong knowledge of planning tools and frameworks and ability to drive adoption across teams.
* Skilled in leveraging data and analytics to inform planning decisions and improve campaign performance.
* Familiarity with attribution models, measurement frameworks, and marketing science principles.
* Ability to translate complex planning strategies into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.
* An exceptional leader with a track record in inspiring, mentoring, motivating and educating planning craft.
