Job Description

In this full time role, based in Richmond, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Epworth infrastructure, including plant and equipment building fabric, and associated systems to ensure the hospital is maintained appropriately and in accordance with the relevant legislation and standards.

You will be required to utilise your skills, knowledge & experience to effectively maintain plant & equipment, building & fixtures as well as loose assets in a hospital environment.

You will be required to work a 38 hour work week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00PM with the availability to work additional sick and annual leave shift cover as needed. There may be a need to be available on call once appropriately experienced in the workplace environment.

You will make an impact by:

* Ensuring hospital maintenance is completed to a satisfactory standard and in a timely manner
* Carrying out emergency procedures in line with Policy
* Carry out inspections of building services, plant & equipment, and or building/fixtures.
* Raise work requests as required
* Close works orders as required
* Prepare scopes of work & source quotations for the required task
* Provide first line response to all urgent requests and breakdowns
* Be responsible for the completion of permits for risk work as may be required
* Liaise with Facilities Administrator to procure sufficient spares/materials and ensure enough spares/materials are kept in stock to minimise any equipment downtime
* Carry out audits on plant and equipment as instructed

Qualifications

To be successful in this role…

You will have:

* Qualified trades assistant or equivalent experience in a Facilities Maintenance role.
* At least 5 years working in a Facilities Maintenance environment.
* The ability to prioritise and utilise available resources to achieve service delivery.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Knowledge of Technology One Maintenance System is desirable.
* Commitment to providing a safe environment for patients and staff
