About the Role: Our client Samsung Electronics is on the lookout for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join their team at the Sydney Olympic Park Office!
This role requires the candidate to work in the office 4 days a week with 1 day work from home.
The primary function of this role is to manage end to end payroll processes to ensure timely processing of the monthly and expatriate pay runs are completed efficiently.
In addition to payroll processes, this role will be seen as the payroll expert at Samsung Australia, ensuring that all legislative requirements and best practice are monitored to ensure continual improvement occurs across all aspects of payroll.
Duties and Responsibilities: Payroll: Manage end to end accurate payroll processing in ADP which includes: Monthly Main Run: Payroll calculations, including parental, redundancies, are carried out Tax variations and implications across all employees (including Expats) Management of worker's compensation payments and claims Processing of new starters and terminations Managing incentive payments and adjustments Management and communication of overpayments Salary adjustments, including salary sacrifice changes Superannuation payments/adjustments and reconciliations Expat Pay Run: Gather Expat salary and allowance information, combine with any deductions/reimbursements for final calculation figures to be processed through payroll Support Head of Comp & Ben to ensure all expat requirements are processed correctly and efficiently Work with Finance to ensure tax requirements are met Work with finance to reconcile all expat payroll at the end of each month Off Cycle Pay Each Month: Process off-cycle pay runs required for urgent payroll processes, terminations and starters Identify best approach/practice for minimise requirements for Off-cycle, including business expectations/reliance on off-cycles Other Payroll processing requirements Work with the Head of Comp and Ben to ensure Shared Service team in Malaysia, are inputting correctly and identify processes to be streamlined through Shared Services team Generate all necessary reporting and conduct reconciliation on payment after each pay run for the finance team End of month processing Ensure the GL balances Upload GL into GHR-Hub then transfer to SAP Other Payroll Related Duties: Generate all necessary reporting and conduct reconciliation on payment after each pay run for the finance team ESS Password Reset Managing payroll inbox by responding to questions relating to pay, leave, tax etc Process all out of cycle pay run HR Support to Internal Movement: Draft all internal variation letters for staff covering scenarios below but not limited to: Change of internal title Change of external title Salary increase Higher Duties Allowance Verification of employment letters + forms that come in from financial institutions etc.
Change in remuneration – bonus/commission etc.
Timely filing of all employee letters and correspondence.
Other duties: Liaise with Sales Support regarding Commission Payments including new starters, terminations and salary changes SEAU expects that its staff will at all times comply with the law in Australia in the conduct of their duties, including all applicable competition and consumer law.
This involves: Performing all duties in a lawful manner; Where appropriate, satisfactorily completing relevant face to face and online competition and consumer law compliance training; and Reporting and escalating compliance concerns, issues and failures in accordance with SEAU's policies About You: Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Commerce, Business, Finance or related discipline Mobility Payroll processing experience preferred At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in Payroll, with experience in ADP preferable (as well as Workday HR system - Understanding of integration files (FTP and PECI), between Workday and ADP a plus) Experience in both Australian and New Zealand payroll processes, including global mobility employees, tax and superannuation requirement.
Experience in (or exposure to) working within a global organization while managing payroll internationally Experience in generating reports and dashboard is an advantage but not essential; Proficiency with Microsoft Applications with advanced Excel Skills.
Well-developed analytical skills and strong numerical competence with experience handling confidential information discreetly.
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team (both locally and globally), strong verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to build and manage strong relationships with stakeholders.
