This non-remunerated Non-Executive Director of AMA SA provides an opportunity for you to utilise your skills and experience to make a tangible impact by helping to shape our direction and effectiveness. Working collaboratively with the Chair, Board and CEO, this role ensures the delivery of accountable corporate performance in accordance with the organisation’s goals and objectives.Key Responsibilities:Champion AMA SA's commitment to trust, maintaining transparency and integrity in all aspects of governance and decision making;Actively promote and embed collaboration by fostering a cooperative and unified environment within AMA SA;Support inclusion by nurturing a diverse and vibrant community where every voice is heard, respected, and valued, ensuring equitable opportunities and outcomes for all;Provide strategic direction for the organisation, participating in the development and review of the AMA SA’s strategies and objectives to ensure their alignment to vision and mission;Monitor the financial performance of the AMA SA, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability across budgets, financial plans and the investment portfolio;Identify principal risks facing the organisation and ensuring appropriate controls and monitoring systems are in place to mitigate and manage them;Facilitate effective communication and engagement with members and stakeholders, coordinating the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance stakeholder relationships;Ensure the AMA SA adheres to its constitution, legal requirements and regulatory obligations.The ideal candidate will be:A strategic thinker with a robust background in finance and governance;A professional committed to ethical leadership and accountability;An individual keen to drive change and innovation within a culturally rich and evolving medical landscape.Applications are sought from ideally CA/CPA qualified candidates with prior experience in investment, finance, accounting, commercial or governance roles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside an understanding of current issues and opportunities within the medical field will be critical for success in this role. Strong financial literacy, together with an understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to the AMA SA will be highly regarded.The successful candidate will be collaborative and analytical, embracing innovative thinking.
