About the role This is a hands-on diesel mechanic position working in a workshop setting on a diverse range of heavy mobile plant and road construction equipment. The role involves servicing and repairing specialised machinery used in road maintenance and asphalt operations, with a mix of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and some fabrication work. Duties Perform scheduled servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a varied fleet of heavy mobile plant and road equipment Troubleshoot and fix hydraulic, electrical (12v–24v), and mechanical faults to minimise downtime Carry out fabrication and refurbishment work as needed (e.g., repairing milling drums, sweeper brooms) Ensure all work is completed safely, to high standards, and in line with company procedures Occasionally support night shifts, on-call (rare), or short-term travel for equipment support across NSW Skills and experience Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy vehicle/mobile plant mechanic Strong technical skills in servicing and repairing heavy equipment (ideally including asphalt pavers, profilers, rollers, skid steers, trucks, trailers, tack coaters, etc.) Competence in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic issues, 12v–24v electrical systems, and performing fabrication/refurbishment tasks (e.g., sweeper brooms, milling drums) Cert III in Commercial Vehicle Maintenance and/or Mobile Plant Technology highly regarded Current driver's licence (C class minimum; HR licence preferable) Forklift licence desirable (or willingness to obtain) Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently or in a team Willingness for occasional travel and night work as required Physically fit and prepared for a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening Benefits Competitive remuneration package aligned with experience and qualifications.
