About our role:You will play a key leadership role supporting the Principal to guide the school's vision, culture, and day-to-day operations. You'll lead staff teams, maintain high-quality teaching and learning through a trauma-informed practice lens, and champion a safe, supportive and engaging school environment for young people. This role also deputises for the Principal during periods of absence and may include some programmed teaching time. Your focus may lean toward curriculum or student wellbeing depending on school needs.

*We have two positions available – one in our middle school and one in our senior school*Your day-to-day will involve:

* Lead and support staff teams through effective supervision, performance management, professional guidance and trauma-informed practice.
* Strengthen student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement by building trusted relationships, overseeing behaviour strategies, and supporting individual learning and life needs.
* Drive high-quality teaching and learning by monitoring curriculum delivery, academic progress including QCE pathways, reporting requirements, and implementing evidence-based practices.
* Oversee key school operations including enrolments, attendance, assemblies, staff meetings, communications, camps, excursions and associated risk assessments.
* Ensure inclusive education practices, benchmark testing and NCCD compliance by guiding staff, documenting adjustments, and removing barriers to learning for diverse student needs.
* Contribute to strategic school leadership through participation in the School Leadership Team, policy development, compliance oversight, and deputising for the Principal where required.

About you:You are an experienced, values-led educational leader with a genuine commitment to supporting disengaged or at-risk young people. You bring strong interpersonal and staff leadership skills, work collaboratively using a trauma-informed approach and confidently step into the Principal's role when needed. You balance operational, wellbeing and curriculum priorities with ease, backed by excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving capability.

In addition,

* Registered and qualified teacher
* Strong knowledge of education legislation, compliance and school operations
* Demonstrated leadership experience in a sub-school or equivalent role
* Experience supervising staff, managing performance and building cohesive teams
* Curriculum planning expertise across QCAA, ACARA, NSSAB and VET standards
* Experience with academic reporting, timetabling and monitoring student progress
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice and behaviour support (TCI preferred)
