Add expected salary to your profile for insights.We are partnering exclusively with an Australian mining company to recruit a Senior Planning Engineer for a corporate position based in Perth.Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for:Working in conjunction with the Principal Mine Engineer, generating a Life of Mine strategy which will position the company and operations to prosper through all stages of the commodity price cycle.Integration of Long-term strategies into the delivery of Mine Design, Mine Planning & Scheduling, Cost & Financial Model, and Study Reports.Produce and ensure timely delivery of practical and executable long term and medium term mine design, Planning & Scheduling, Area Plans, Development mining Instructions, as required, and as necessary to support the development and operations of the mine, ongoing.As developments and Operations proceed, communicate mine plans to all relevant personnel to foster awareness of future targets and directions for the Mining Projects & Operation.Create accurate and timely mine plans that meet operations requirements by liaising with the Geology and geotechnical departments and site personnel.Undertake infrastructure projects.Assist in other tasks such as the preparation of the Annual Mining Budget, setting up standards/procedures/management plans for the Mine Engineering team, and any tendering process.To support your success in the role, you will possess qualifications in Mining Engineering (or related discipline).
Additionally, you will possess:Experience in a similar role involving all planning processes (short to long term) and all aspects of mine design (lateral/vertical development and production).Underground production and planning experience in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine, together with open pit mining in either a planning or production environment.Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications and intermediate level experience with Deswik suite software including Deswik scheduling.Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak with all levels within the organisation.Your rewards will include a fantastic ground floor career opportunity, together with a highly competitive salary package designed to recognise your contribution to the ongoing success of the business.
