The Chief Procurement Office provides expert advice, strategic direction and procurement solutions to deliver the Council Plan and drive impactful service outcomes. With a focus on providing strategic contracting services, we’re leading the charge in delivering critical infrastructure, services and goods to our community.
About the role
The Contract Management Lead is responsible for providing high level service in contract management and administration including planning, operational and commercial performance, governance, risk, and compliance functions within a procurement framework.
In this role, you’ll take the lead on complex, high-risk contract management activities, delivering strategic advice and building trusted relationships. You'll play a key role in shaping critical decisions through high-quality documentation and data analysis, while championing continuous improvement in supplier engagement, compliance, and best practice.
As a leader, you’ll also mentor and develop contract management and administration officers, helping to build a capable, collaborative, and high-performing team.
We’re looking for people who have:
* Demonstrated experience in leading high risk and/or complex contract management and administration activities.
* Proven stakeholder relationship management and negotiation skills with the ability to manage expectations and resolve conflict to build trust through accountability.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and risks with sound judgement.
* Proven ability to successfully drive capability improvements within a large, diverse organisation.
* Organised and self-motivated with the ability to prioritise tasks.
* Experience creating and reviewing documentation to support contract management activities.
* Sound skills utilising software including Adobe, Outlook, Word, Excel and maintain accurate data in systems including Ready Contracts (Open Windows), SAP, Objective and SharePoint.
* Demonstrated experience supervising and coaching team members to foster a high-performance culture that delivers continuous improvement in a contract management environment.
