The Role & Service
An exciting opportunity exists for a Deputy Director of Intensive Care to join a modern, high-performing ICU within a major regional referral hospital. Working closely with the Director, you will deliver high-quality specialist ICU care while contributing to clinical governance, workforce leadership, education, research and service development. The role includes leadership of junior medical staff, participation in the on-call roster, and acting in the Director role when required.
The ICU is a state-of-the-art unit with 10 beds (expanding to 14), supporting 450–650 admissions annually across a broad case mix including trauma, complex medical and surgical cases, oncology, and paediatrics. As part of a large tertiary-level hospital delivering comprehensive specialist services, this role offers an outstanding platform for senior clinicians seeking meaningful leadership impact in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Essential Criteria
* MBBS (or equivalent) with eligibility for AHPRA registration
* Specialist registration (or eligibility) in Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM)
* Proven experience delivering high-quality specialist ICU care
* Demonstrated leadership in education, supervision, and multidisciplinary teams
* Strong commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, and ongoing professional development
