Ophthalmic Scrub Nurse Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Scrub Nurse to join our dynamic surgical team on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in ophthalmic surgery and be confident in supporting the surgical team in delivering the highest standards of patient care.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and maintain the operating theatre and instruments for ophthalmic surgeries, including retinal cases.
* Scrub and assist the surgeon during ophthalmic procedures.
* Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterile field practices.
* Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate efficient workflow.
* Manage and account for surgical instruments and consumables before, during, and after procedures.
* Support and mentor junior staff when required.
* Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other perioperative team members.
* Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards at all times.
Requirements
* Candidates must have:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience as an Ophthalmic Scrub Nurse.
* Strong knowledge of ophthalmic surgical procedures and protocols.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
