About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the NALHN Pharmacy Department as a Pharmacist to deliver high-quality, safe and patient-centred medication management services across inpatient and outpatient settings. Working as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive dispensing, clinical, production and counselling services, while optimising drug therapy in line with hospital and departmental policies, SA Health guidelines, and relevant State and Federal legislation. Your expertise will directly support improved patient outcomes and continuity of care.
In this role, you will undertake timely medication histories, conduct daily medication reviews, and develop medication action plans to ensure safe and appropriate therapy. You will exercise professional judgement and relative autonomy in dispensing and clinical decision-making, provide expert advice to medical, nursing and allied health staff, and contribute to education, research and quality improvement initiatives. You will also support pharmacy operations through supervision of pharmacy technicians and assistants, responding to enquiries, preparing reports, and providing clear counselling and information to patients to promote safe and effective medication use.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will meet the essential minimum requirements and bring a strong mix of professional qualification, clinical capability and collaborative practice to deliver safe, high-quality pharmacy services.
* Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) with current or eligible registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
* Sound knowledge of clinical pharmacy practice, dispensing, production, patient counselling and pharmacy legislation
* Strong communication, organisation and technical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Proven ability to work both autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating flexibility, resilience and initiative
