We are currently seeking a Temporary Full Time staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.
The role
Reporting to the Team Leader Youth Wellbeing and Belonging, we are seeking a Youth Wellbeing and Belonging Officer who can bring their skills, experience and passion for working with young people. The role will involve:
* Work in partnership with relevant stakeholders to address actions aligned with Council's strategies that focus on young people mental health and wellbeing.
* Lead the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of a range of outcome focused initiatives that address the wellbeing needs of young people through community development and strength based frameworks.
* Provide intake of short to medium term, outcome focused individual support to young people aged 12-25.
* Develop, facilitate and evaluate evidence-based support programs, workshops and projects which aim to support the identified wellbeing needs of young people and their support networks.
To be considered you will have
* Local government experience is desirable
* Relevant Degree and/or Masters Qualification and experience in Youth Work, Social Work or related discipline.
* Knowledge and understanding of health promotion, adolescent development, youth participation and engagement and social work principles.
* A strong understanding of the application of the YacVic Code of Ethics.
* A demonstrative understanding in project management, program development and evaluation techniques.
* Ability to work and negotiate with stakeholders who may present with challenges as related to working towards shared outcomes.
* A positive, curious and flexible attitude
* Availability to work outside of standard hours and on weekends
