Responsibilities
Plans and conducts independent Civil/Structural work requiring judgment in theevaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Civil/Structural engineeringtechniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment insupport of a global business unit
Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil/Structural components andprocesses utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), designstandards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices(DRNs)
Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project to which assigned
Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
Originates and checks complex Civil/Structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
Develops conceptual designs for Civil/Structural engineering projects or projects havingspecialized or unique requirements
Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan inaccordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and supportsimplementation and assists with performance reporting
Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performancedata
Mentors Civil/Structural engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for theirprofessional development
