About the role
The Database Administrator is responsible for the day‐to‐day management of the organisation's database performance, integrity and security and ensuring changes and queries are addressed in accordance with the needs of customers. This role will focus on managing the MSSQL on premise, cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) and migrations to the cloud.
Remuneration
$131,911 - $142,056 salary package – includes base salary ($116,219 - $125,157), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
Qualifications
You have experience managing multiple large database systems and have maintained them to deliver a high level of performance and reliability. As part of database administration, you have detailed experience in implementing security best practices, you can troubleshoot and resolve performance‐related problems, implement new configurations to deliver a high level of reliability and you take steps to ensure the long‐term integrity of the organisation's data. Your strong communication skills and approachable personality allows you to work effectively with technical and non‐technical teams during planned and unplanned outages, upgrades and installations. You enjoy supporting your team and actively contribute to a shared sense of direction while implementing effective technical and procedural improvements. You have a holistic view of the technical needs of your customers and can prioritise competing workloads and complex database issues with project support.
Highly Regarded
* Hands‐on experience across contemporary database platforms including Microsoft SQL and cloud Azure and AWS SQL server database platforms.
* Experience in automation, supporting large databases that underpin business‐critical applications and T‐SQL, PowerShell scripting experience and knowledge.
Eligibility
This is a child‐related position. Successful candidates must hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to commencing. TAFE NSW will also conduct an Australian National Criminal Record Check on the preferred applicant as part of the pre‐employment process.

Location is negotiable across NSW (subject to campus availability). Preferred campus location is not guaranteed and is subject to campus availability at the time of offer.
