Primary objective

Assist the work unit to deliver appropriate cost management, financial control and reporting, including forecasting, program

budgets and cashflow monitoring.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Assist with program and project control frameworks, including project budgets, cash flows, contingencies and forecasts.

2. Work in partnership with other staff to ensure that quality directives and information are provided in a consistent and

appropriate manner and prepare briefings, reports, and discussion papers as and when required.

1. Prepare a range of high-quality documents including program performance reporting (reports and dashboards), business

cases and submissions.

4. Provide analysis and advice on cost management, financial systems and reporting.

5. Develop and maintain effective collaborative partnerships across the department and other NTPS agencies to ensure

program outcomes are cost effective and provide value for Territory.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Knowledge and experience in analysing data to produce overall program reports of current performance and forecasting

future outcomes.

2. Expert knowledge of report generation techniques and experience in the use of financial management, capital works

delivery and reporting systems.

3. Well-developed communication, interpersonal, collaboration and influencing skills across a wide range of stakeholders

whilst being outcome focussed.

4. Ability to understand stakeholder perspective, expectations and desired outcomes, particularly remote Aboriginal

communities, groups and organisations, and adapt communication, style and approach as required.

5. Prior experience in supporting multidisciplinary projects and programs with unique complexities.

1. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial practices at the organisational and program management level,

including financial and asset information system capabilities for program and projects.

Desirable

1. Tertiary qualification in a related field.
