Your Role
The primary purpose of this role is to assist in achieving insurance value for a portfolio, identify potential exposures, implement loss prevention measures, and help acquire and retain quality accounts, contributing to the profitability of the division.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Assess high net worth homes' replacement costs using accepted valuation methods and stay up-to-date with current building costs.
* Identify potential exposures and review security and fire protection relative to insurance coverages.
* Assess exposure to catastrophe perils such as bushfire and flood.
* Provide recommendations to the underwriter regarding risk acceptability by understanding guidelines, local contracts, and making observations about the homeowner's character and attitude.
* Suggest modifications to improve unacceptable risks related to burglary, fire hazards, and general exposures.
* Promote strategies to prevent internal water damage with insureds during appraisals.
* Prepare comprehensive reports communicating risk investigation results using existing reporting templates and following appraisal guidelines.
* Identify additional insurance coverages based on insured's personal possessions and lifestyle and supply the underwriter with necessary information.
* Upsell products, benefits, and services while interacting with insureds, providing a valuable marketing advantage.
* Contribute to departmental marketing efforts by conducting informational and promotional sessions with producers/brokers.
* Assist in reviewing and updating the construction cost matrix used to assess homes' replacement costs.
* Stay informed about changes to security/fire protection, construction techniques/materials, loss trends, and undertake research projects as required.
