Program Engineering Manager – Collins‐class submarine fleet
As Program Engineering Manager, you will lead and coordinate engineering activities across the full lifecycle of complex programs, ensuring the timely delivery of high‐quality technical outcomes. In this role, you will support engineering activities associated with the Collins‐class submarine fleet, playing a key part in sustaining and enhancing one of Australia's most critical naval capabilities.
You will provide leadership to a team of engineers, enabling their growth while ensuring engineering artefacts and deliverables meet project requirements for time, cost and quality. The role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders and customers, including presentation and review of complex technical information. You will ensure robust knowledge capture through effective data management, while driving continuous improvement across engineering processes to support innovation, operational capability, and the successful delivery of program objectives.
About You
You are an experienced engineering leader with a strong ability to guide teams through complex technical challenges. With a deep understanding of engineering design, analysis, manufacturing and support principles within your discipline, you bring sound technical judgement and the ability to make complex engineering decisions throughout the program lifecycle. You are passionate about developing people and building high‐performing teams, supporting the professional growth and technical capability of those around you. Your approach balances strong governance with continuous improvement, ensuring engineering activities comply with relevant standards, regulations and safety requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
* Experience in design, analysis, manufacturing, and support techniques throughout the engineering product lifecycle.
* A thorough level of knowledge in engineering reports / technical writing in an engineering environment.
* A strong understanding of Engineering Change Management Process.
* A thorough understanding of Product Safety and Quality Processes.
* Knowledge of the principles of Technical Risk Management.
* An excellent understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
