Data Operations Engineer (Service Transition) – Endeavour Group, Sydney, NSW, AU
Fixed term contract of 12 months. Endeavour Group operates Australia's largest portfolio of licensed hotels (ALH Hotels) and the country's largest drinks network (Dan Murphy's and BWS) plus ancillary businesses. This role sits within the One Endeavour Transformation Program and the Data Program, which is transitioning the existing Retail Enterprise Data Warehouse to Endeavour.

The Data Operations Analyst / Engineer is a key member of the Data Program team, responsible for ensuring the successful transition of the Data Platform into the BAU Data Operations Team, who monitor, triage, and resolve issues on the Data Platform. This hands-on role works with the BAU Technology Service Delivery Team, BAU Data Operations Team and Data Program Team to facilitate service transition and ensure alignment with Enterprise standards, processes, and tools, delivering an optimised user experience for both end users and resolver groups.
The Analyst will actively seek and incorporate diverse perspectives to ensure a successful and equitable transition of the service.
Responsibilities
* Effective service transition of the Data Platform into the BAU Data Operations Team, including documentation, processes, knowledge sharing and tooling configuration.
* Design data operations processes for the transitioned platform (in collaboration with the BAU service design team).
* Document and knowledge share the newly transitioned data platform to the BAU Data Operations Team.
* Configure the service management tool, and/or work with the Service Management Team to implement the Support/Operations processes on handover to BAU.
* Participate in agile ceremonies where appropriate.

Required Qualifications, Experience & requirements:
* Experience supporting data warehouse/data products.
* Technology operations management experience in complex environments.
* Understanding of ITIL and experience with ITSM tools and processes.
* Experience with Cloud Data Platforms and data warehouses.
* Strong SQL skills and understanding of ETL processes.
* Strong understanding of data pipelines and workflows.
* Knowledge of data governance and security principles.
* Experience using Agile tools like Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
* Retail industry experience.
* Experience with ServiceNow.
* Understanding of Machine Learning workflow; streaming pipeline experience is a plus.
* Familiarity with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools is a plus.
* Strong Google Cloud Platform skills (BigQuery, IAM, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Composer).
* Experience with DBT.
* Development experience in Python.
* Understanding of BI platforms such as Tableau and Google Looker.
* Understanding of Azure Databricks is a plus.
