Job Overview:
The Property Claims Officer is a client-facing role that involves end-to-end management of property insurance claims.
* Manage a portfolio of residential and commercial property claims, from lodgement through to resolution.
* Evaluate claim validity by examining policy terms, coverage, and documentation.
* Facilitate timely repairs and settlements with insurers, loss adjusters, builders, and restoration contractors.
* Provide regular updates and empathetic support to clients throughout the claims process.
* Negotiate liability, settlement terms, and recoveries where applicable.
* Maintain accurate records in the claims management system and ensure adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
* Escalate complex or high-value claims to senior management as needed.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of claims handling processes.
Key skills and experience required include 2+ years' experience in general insurance claims, thorough knowledge of insurance policies and liability principles, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and high attention to detail.
