Senior Payroll Officer
Full-Time | Work from Home | 9-Day Fortnight
Wollongong Office visits as required
Are you a career payroll professional who lives and breathes compliance, accuracy and getting it right the first time?
We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer with a strong background in workers compensation, superannuation and end-to-end payroll processing. This is a full-time role offering flexibility to work from home, with head office visits as required, and the benefit of a 9-day fortnight.
About the Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across the organisation. You will bring deep legislative knowledge and a strong compliance focus, supporting both operational payroll activities and continuous system improvements.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who sees payroll as their career — not just a stepping stone.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll
* Management and reconciliation of workers compensation payments
* Superannuation processing, compliance and fund reporting
* Preparation of payroll-related statutory payments and reporting
* Managing terminations, final pays and leave calculations
* Ensuring compliance with legislation, awards and industrial instruments
* Supporting payroll system improvements and process enhancements
* Providing expert payroll advice to employees and managers
To Be Successful You Will Have
About You
* Minimum 10 years' experience in payroll, including senior-level responsibilities
* Strong working knowledge of workers compensation and superannuation compliance
* Excellent understanding of payroll legislation and award interpretation
* Highly detail-oriented with strong reconciliation skills
* Confident working independently in a remote environment
* Professional, discreet and committed to data integrity
