About the Role We are seeking 4x Labourer / Road Workers to join the regional infrastructure maintenance team based in Fernbank, NSW. This role is integral to the safe and efficient delivery of road construction, repair, and maintenance works across the network. You’ll be operating a variety of plant and equipment, working within a supportive team committed to maintaining high safety and operational standards. You must live within a 200 km radius of the Fernbank depot or be able to source your own accommodations nearFernbank to attend callouts and OT. Road Worker - $41.35/hour super Location: Dubbo, NSW Start Date: ASAP Duration: Until 30 June 2026, with possible extension Roster: 9-day fortnight, RDO every second Monday or Friday You will receive Living Away from Home Allowance (LAHA) and Accommodation is supplied by this NSW government department when required to stay away overnight for work. Willingness to work overtime and attend callouts as needed. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently. Must pass a National Police Background Check. Commitment to following workplace safety standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform general roadworks and civil construction tasks using hand and power tools, working both independently and within a team Support construction of new pavements and maintenance of existing roads, including spreading, levelling, and compacting materials Assist with installation and upkeep of roadside signage, barriers, and safety fixtures Apply road markings and bituminous sealing materials in line with project requirements Implement and monitor traffic control measures, including lane closures and work zone setups in accordance with approved traffic management plans Operate traffic management equipment, including TMA vehicles where required Conduct pre-start checks and basic maintenance on tools, plant, and equipment Assist with plant operations such as bobcats, excavators, or trucks where appropriately licensed Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment across work sites Maintain clean and organised work areas, ensuring site readiness and safety compliance Work collaboratively with operators, trades personnel, supervisors, and contractors to deliver project outcomes Adhere to all WHS and environmental procedures, identifying and reporting hazards promptly Maintain accurate daily records of site activities and conditions Respond to changing site conditions and assist in incident management where required Travel between work locations, with occasional after-hours work and overnight stays as needed About You Demonstrated experience in roadworks, civil construction, or infrastructure projects Valid Construction White Card Workers on Foot (WOF) and Traffic Control implementation tickets Current Australian driver licence National TMA accreditation with highway experience (essential for designated requirements) Ability to pass a National Police Check prior to commencement Desirable: Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan certification MR truck licence or higher Experience operating plant equipment such as excavators, tractors, or bobcats Strong understanding of WHS practices and hazard identification Physically fit, reliable, and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required Full working rights in Australia – Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid long-term working visa (sponsorship unavailable) Applicants are kindly asked to upload their tickets at www.charterdiligence.com.au/skillhire Please note: We are also delivering projects in regional NSW locations including the Riverina Region, Broken Hill, Dubbo & Central, Wagga Wagga, Gundagai, Temora, Hunter Valley, Hay, Waratah, Nabiac, Maitland & Hunter, Singleton, Narrandera, Broken Hill, Moruya, Goulburn, Albion Park, Wallendbeen, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Tweed Heads, Mardi, Southern Highlands, West Wyalong, Tamworth, Cooma & North West.
