The Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day maintenance operations of the fixed plant within the designated area. This role ensures maintenance tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards, supporting continuous plant operations and fostering team development and performance.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the fixed plant maintenance team by assigning and overseeing daily work tasks and priorities.
* Foster effective cross-departmental collaboration to ensure maintenance activities align with operational needs.
* Ensure maintenance targets are achieved while maintaining plant and personnel safety.
* Identify and assess competency requirements for maintenance tasks and evaluate training needs of team members.
* Monitor and assess individual and team performance using established metrics.
* Supervise subcontractors operating within the fixed plant maintenance area.
* Demonstrate leadership through coaching, training, and behaviour management of crew members.
* Apply strong planning, time management, and organisational skills to execute maintenance programs effectively.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to fixed plant operations.
* Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the maintenance team.

Qualifications and Skills

* Mechanical fitting trade qualification or relevant mechanical trade certification
* Proven experience in fixed plant mechanical maintenance in a mining or industrial setting
* Experience in leading and supervising trade teams in an operational environment
* Ability to assess, coach, and manage team performance with fairness and objectivity
* Sound knowledge of maintenance planning and schedule execution
* Understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to fixed plant operations
* Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office
* Current Manual Driver’s Licence

* Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures to eliminate work-related hazards.
* Promote a proactive safety culture within the fixed plant team and subcontractors.

* Provide clear direction, mentorship, and feedback to team members.
* Monitor team effectiveness and identify opportunities for performance improvement and skill development.
* Communicate effectively with peers, leaders, and external contractors to ensure smooth operations.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance processes and team behaviour.

Teamwork

* Work cooperatively with other departments to support plant-wide goals.
* Facilitate effective communication between shifts and other operational teams.
* Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing to develop a high-performing maintenance crew.
