We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, under teacher direction, you will assist in education programs and promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will help deliver planned education programs to support students in developing academic, social, emotional and physical skills, including the operation of computers and digital technologies. You may provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation of the achievement of goals in special education.

Eligibility and Requirements
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team in evaluating educational programs.
- Demonstrated valuable organisational skills supporting delivery and development of education programs and subsequent feedback to professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including occupational and/or physiotherapy programs if required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to support the general health and well-being of students.
