About The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to play a key leadership role on the Stapylton Sewerage Network Upgrade, a major project being delivered for the City of Gold Coast. This upgrade will significantly increase capacity across the Stapylton catchment, supporting future population growth and ensuring long‑term environmental compliance.
The project includes approximately 15 kilometres of gravity and rising sewer mains, two new pump stations, and the renewal and decommissioning of existing sewerage assets along the corridor from Ormeau to Eagleby.
As Senior Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager to drive planning, coordination and delivery across multiple work fronts. This is a hands‑on, site‑based leadership role suited to someone who thrives on solving complex engineering challenges and guiding teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities include
Leading day‑to‑day project delivery to meet program, budget and quality targetsOverseeing construction planning, methodologies, staging and risk managementProviding technical leadership across complex sewer and pipeline worksManaging subcontractors, suppliers and consultants across dispersed work zonesDriving procurement strategies and ensuring timely supply of materials and servicesLeading cost control, forecasting, reporting and commercial performanceManaging contract administration, variations, progress claims and client reportingEnsuring compliance with WHS, environmental and quality requirementsCoaching and mentoring Project Engineers and Site EngineersBuilding strong, collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and the broader project team
What You’ll Bring To The Team
A tertiary degree in Civil or Mechanical EngineeringProven experience delivering water infrastructure projects at Senior Project Engineer levelStrong technical and commercial acumen, with the ability to manage cost, risk and program performanceDemonstrated success leading engineering teams, subcontractors and multiple work fronts on major civil, linear or utilities projectsEffective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and communicate clearly with clients, authorities and internal teamsA flexible, solutions‑focused mindset and willingness to work in a dynamic, site‑based environmentA strong commitment to safety, quality and collaborative teamwork
