Commercial Manager
A well-established commercial roofing contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager ready to take the next step into broader leadership and business responsibility.
This role is ideally suited to a senior estimator or pre‑contracts professional who is strong technically, commercially minded, and motivated to grow beyond a pricing‑only role. You will work closely with senior leadership, gaining exposure across work‑winning, client relationships, and commercial decision‑making, with genuine scope to expand your influence as the business continues to grow.
The Opportunity
This position sits at the centre of pre‑contracts and commercial strategy, combining high‑level estimating with business development and relationship management.
You will:
* Lead the pricing of commercial and industrial roofing projects
* Own tender strategy, scope review, and commercial risk assessment
* Engage directly with clients, consultants, and builders to secure work
* Support the conversion of enquiries into awarded projects
* Work closely with operations to ensure smooth handover post‑award
* Gain exposure to pipeline planning, forecasting, and margin management
* Influence how estimating and commercial processes evolve as the business grows
This is a hands‑on role with increasing leadership scope, not a purely administrative or sales position.
About You
This role is designed for professionals who are ready for more responsibility, not those looking to stay in a narrow technical lane.
You will likely have:
* 5+ years' experience in senior estimating, pre‑contracts, or commercial roles
* Background in commercial or industrial roofing (or related construction sectors)
* A strong understanding of pricing, methodology, and risk
* Confidence engaging clients and contributing to work‑winning conversations
* Commercial curiosity and appetite to broaden your role
* Experience using estimating and document review tools (e.g. Bluebeam or similar)
Formal qualifications are beneficial but hands‑on experience and ambition matter more .
