Principal Business Analyst Clerk Grade 11/12 Full-Time Temporary 12 months with the possibility of extension Parramatta location with hybrid working – weekly attendance This role sits in the Delivery team within Government Shared Services This is a Talent Pool opportunity, which means you will be placed onto a Grade 11/12 talent pool for upcoming opportunities across Government Shared Services. About the team This newly established team’s purpose is to support the delivery of the strategic roadmap to consolidate and harmonise shared services operations and systems across the NSW public sector. Involving the consolidation of ERP systems and processes, IT service and incident management and travel and expense management, the program will lead to a better employee experience and enable more efficient sector mobility. Additionally, common, streamlined and efficient processes will allow our people to better focus on our customers. The Principal Business Analyst leads the review and analysis of the organisation’s IT services, architecture, applications and information needs to identify opportunities for standardisation and harmonisation that lead to improvements and support efficient delivery of business operations and performance in line with organisational strategies and operational plans. Your day-to-day Reporting to the Delivery Director - Government Shared Services, your role will: Identify and document current IT services, architecture and applications across the agencies being supported by Government Shared Services. Compare current practices across the agencies and consider opportunities to standardise and harmonise applications and IT services, applying best practice methodologies to provide innovative solutions to improve customer service and gain efficiencies Provide expert advice on the feasibility and suitability of proposed solutions to optimise business operations and performance. Consult internally and externally to ensure that the best solutions are proposed. Build strategic relationships and work with all internal and external stakeholders to define business needs and priorities with a comprehensive analysis of alternate solutions using best practice methodologies to build out a roadmap and propose new processes and solutions to deliver products and service with the maximum customer benefits and to required standards. Gather, analyse and translate complex business and IT data to generate meaningful insights and provide expert advice on technical issues to non-technical audiences in plain language to enable informed business decisions and service level improvements Influence key stakeholders to promote a culture of continuous improvement service delivery environment to enhance business processes and ensure customer focused service delivery To be successful in this role you will demonstrate: Ability to think strategically, build out roadmaps, work independently and as part of a team Experience in defining activities and deliverables and then building plans and working to them to deliver the outcomes. Deep knowledge of ICT applications, architecture and/or information systems for example user authentication management, networks, desktop provisioning, etc. or knowledge of corporate services applications Experience with enterprise architecture and in documenting as-is and to-be designs. TOGAF would be an advantage. Ability to work with technical and business stakeholders to extract information and requirements to support proposals.
