Support actuarial reserving and pricing activities at QBE Insurance, collaborating with experienced teams in a hybrid Sydney-based role.
Your role
Responsibilities
* Supporting half-year core reserving activities and financial reporting.
* Developing and maintaining models for claims reserving, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Analyzing claims trends and sharing insights to influence business decisions.
* Analyzing product, segment, and channel profitability.
* Performing risk modeling, premium adequacy assessments, and pricing recommendations.
* Refining rating algorithms and conducting price impact analysis.
* Collaborating with teams across claims, finance, and underwriting.
* Writing clean, maintainable code for data analysis and modeling.
* Documenting methodologies and results clearly and concisely.
* Contributing to projects and division-wide initiatives.
About you
Qualifications
* A degree in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
* Progress toward actuarial qualifications (Actuaries Institute or equivalent).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Excel; experience with R, Python, or SQL is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
* A genuine eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
