Position Overview
Altair Motel is seeking an experienced and capable Motel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the motel and ensure high standards of guest service, operational efficiency, and staff performance. This is a senior operational role requiring strong leadership, organizational capability, and hands-on involvement across all aspects of motel management.
The Motel Manager plays a critical role in maintaining service quality, managing staff, overseeing facilities, and supporting the financial and commercial performance of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Front Office Operations
· Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by addressing complaints, requests, and feedback promptly and professionally.
· Oversee the check-in and check-out processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
· Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all guests.
Staff Management & Supervision
· Recruit, train, supervise, and support motel staff including reception, housekeeping, and maintenance personnel
· Prepare staff rosters and ensure adequate coverage across all operational hours
· Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and address performance or conduct issues as required
· Promote a positive workplace culture and ensure staff comply with internal policies and procedures
Operations & Facilities Management
· Oversee cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance of guest rooms and common areas
· Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs to ensure facilities are safe and fully operational
· Manage stock levels and supplies, including linen, amenities, cleaning materials, and office supplies
· Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, fire safety standards, and security procedures
Financial & Administrative Management
· Assist in preparing and managing budgets, monitoring expenses and revenue performance
· Oversee billing, invoicing, cash handling, and daily financial reconciliations
· Prepare operational reports and support business owners with performance insights
· Implement cost control measures while maintaining service quality and guest satisfaction
Marketing & Business Development
· Manage the motel's online presence, including booking platforms, website listings, and social media channels
· Respond to online reviews and maintain strong ratings across accommodation platforms
· Develop and implement local marketing initiatives to attract new guests and encourage repeat business
· Build relationships with local businesses, tourism operators, and service providers
Required Skills and Experience
· Proven experience in motel, hotel, or hospitality management
· Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills
· Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
· Sound understanding of front office systems and property management software
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
· Strong problem-solving skills and customer-focused mindset
Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced hospitality environment and requires hands-on involvement in daily operations. The position may involve standing for extended periods and occasional manual handling related to motel operations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
