Job Overview
Battery Energy Storage Systems require technical coordination and engineering support. As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with customers, EPCs, and internal teams to deliver large-scale BESS projects across Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
1. A) Project Engineering & Technical Support:
* SUPPORT CUSTOMERS AND INTERNAL TEAMS ACROSS R0, R1, AND/OR R2 PROJECT PHASES
* Translate project requirements into technical specifications for BESS equipment, PCS, EMS, HV/MV integration, SCADA, and balance-of-plant interfaces.
* Review client documentation (SOW, grid requirements, functional specs) and prepare technical deliverables.
2. B) Coordination & Stakeholder Management:
* Act as the technical point of contact during pre-execution stages, supporting design clarifications, RFIs, workshops, and customer meetings.
* Coordinate with engineering, product, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with Australian standards and project requirements.
* Support EPC partners during design validation, system configuration, grid studies, and integration planning.
3. C) Documentation & Delivery Support:
* Develop and review engineering documentation such as SLDs, layout drawings, load lists, cable schedules, control philosophies, and interface matrices.
* Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), type tests, and certification processes for BESS equipment.
* Assist in developing commissioning plans, SAT documentation, and acceptance testing frameworks.
4. D) Compliance & Grid Requirements:
* Ensure designs comply with R0/R1/R2 expectations, including AEMO guidelines, DNSP requirements, and relevant AS/NZS/IEC standards.
* Contribute to grid compliance submissions and performance models where required.
